Meet at Chapman Farm School, then climb aboard the van to enjoy a night out with old and new friends while developing hidden skills required on a typical "night out" with a group of friends-
Negotiating a grocery store
Decision making
Money handling and management
Conversation over a meal
"In public" table manners
Cleaning up for the next person coming into the space
Traveling in a group in a large van
Waiting your turn
Being cold, and dealing with it
This outing will teach participants to notice and understand, then practice, in a real-life setting, "social whys" with Katy’s guidance. The magic is in the presentation- kids will work hard on their social skills while eating with peers and enjoying lights- but won't even notice the hard work they are doing because they are having so much fun. It's kind of like the social version of hiding pureed veggies in pizza sauce.
